Sleep and Play

Waking up in the morning, VERY happy.

Sleeping, sweet Henry.

All he needs is a basketball and a few feet in height, and he's ready to play! Finally, we are seeing some mischief with Henry. He's FAST, and full of curiosity.

Playing in the mirror and Mimi and Bob-Bob's house.

Finding a drawer that's NOT child proof, yet I'm so happy he's exploring, I have a hard time telling him NO!

Bath Time

Since Henry's counts are good, since he currently doesn't have any tubes, and since we gave Owen a shower before his bath to reduce germs, we decided to give the boys a bath together. Henry thought it was great... Owen didn't really care. (which I consider a huge plus!)

Rocket Star

Owen puts on his sunglasses and will proudly say, "Owen's a rocket star".

Hospital Days

We've been home since last Tuesday. I guess we've been playing so much, I haven't taken the time to post any blogs. So, here we go...

Modeling his NG tube and new port (yellow on his left chest) Happy baby.

Out visiting the gardens with Sara.

"Hello, room service? Can I get some coffee?"

Officially strawberry milkshake, but it LOOKS like coffee.

Trying to steal some of mommy's coffee.

He still doesn't want to eat, but doesn't want the cans of baby food going to waste...

Hence, building blocks!

What a difference a week makes

Last week, Henry was so weak, he could barely sit up. He just wanted held, he had such little energy. This week, he is close to walking. He is crawling all over the house... getting in trouble like a "normal" 16 month old. It's so nice to watch.

He's getting so cute and handsome!

Brothers

It's hard on Owen having a brother, who is home sometimes and not other times. I'm sure any little brother is hard to deal with at times... and honestly, most the time Owen is so sweet to Henry. But, other times, Henry is just TOO CLOSE. I bribed Owen with a bite of cookie dough to get this picture. It was worth it.

And other times, he just kisses Henry, which just makes Henry glow.

Two sides of brotherhood.

Quote one: When Henry was in the hospital, Owen told Lucas: "Owen kiss brother. Make boo-boo go away. Brother come home." (so sweet!)

Quote two: Lucas was asking Owen if he could eat him.

L: Can I eat your nose?

O: NO!

L: Can I eat your elbow?

O: NO!

L:Can I eat your toes?

O:NO!

L:Well, what can I eat?

O: Brother!

Cookie Fun

Owen and I made chocolate chip cookies today. He is quite the helper!

Glasses Fun

We are loving the "funny face" glasses we found at a novelty store. Henry looks great in blue eyeshadow.

Random Pictures

Henry loves taking strolls in his car. Owen riding his tricycle. (with some help)

Owen "pretending to drive daddy's truck".

Rocket Fun

Lucas found a fun rocket. Owen loves watching it go into space (or over 100 feet in the air).

He loved playing with it so much, he even let Penguin play.

Today, we were playing with the rocket with my dad. The wind was blowing, and the rocket ended up HIGH up in the tree. GRANDPA TO THE RESCUE! He got a rope and tool out of his car, engineered a "spin and throw" tactic and got our rocket out. Owen said that it was his favorite part of the day.

Moustache Fun

We found some fake moustaches at a toy store. They have brought hours of entertainment, and many many laughs. Sometimes you just need gag gifts to make you smile.
Owen in the "Sheriff" moustache.
Suzi, modeling where Owen thinks she should where "The Sheriff"

Henry loved "The Movie Star" moustache. He cruised the halls and made everyone in the hospital laugh.

Bath time

Henry is tube free for this first time since February 10th. So, he was able to take his first bath in our bathtub in almost four months. (we have been cleaning him other ways. I promise) He was not a huge fan...

After Henry, Owen took a dunk.

He loves his "dinosaur towel" after bath time.

Boys

Do you notice what's missing? I know you may be focused on the fact that Henry is home again (came home yesterday after 11 days in the hospital). But, you you notice what's missing. The feeding tube. The sticker is on his cheek, the nose is a little bloody, but the tube is missing. He handed it to me when we got home from the car ride from the hospital. I like to think he said, "here mom, I found this, and I don't think I'll be needing it." Ahh.... but he does. Henry is not drinking or eating. This means he's not peeing. Which means I spent the afternoon in the clinic begging and pleading not to be readmitted to the hospital. It worked. After some fluids through his new port, a promise that if he doesn't pee we will come back, and another promise that we will be there again tomorrow morning for more fluids... they let us go home. He's just so cute, it's hard to be mad that he makes this much harder than it has to be sometimes.

Owen and I went to the zoo last Friday. He is such a fun little guy!
