Darker Days

Henry is wearing out. He doesn't eat much, and doesn't drink much. He snuggles and sleeps. We are both trying to enjoy as much time as we can with him.

Random shots

Here's Owen and Pengu at "Christmas Corner", or "Griswald's House" down the street.
When we travel, so does five Gatorade bottles, Henry MUST have selection wherever we go. Not that he drinks anything when we are out... but he likes to have all of his options available.
Owen on Santa's lap at Randall Children's Hospital.

Holiday Express

On November 30th, we rode the Holiday Express steam train. It was cold, but Henry loves steams trains, so we went.

He mostly enjoyed it.

Waving to people walking along the path.

 Kisses
 Pretty wintery picture.

Thanksgiving

On Thanksgiving, we headed to my parents house to celebrate.
  Henry loved the singing/dancing turkey.
 Owen loved the olives.

O Christmas Tree

On Thanksgiving, we decorated our Christmas tree. It was fun to see both boys hang ornaments. It was also the last time Henry had energy. He hasn't walked in a long time, but on Thanksgiving, he had enough energy to decorate.

Owen was "too hot" to wear a shirt. "I'm OK in my own skin,"

Vacation

With the weather as stormy and as cold as it was... and with Henry hating the wind and cold, we spent a lot of time inside. We enjoyed watching movies (Star Wars, and Shrek 2), playing with Legos and doing puzzles. Owen is starting to love UNO. We had a perfect, relaxing vacation.

Owen built a special bed for Pengu.
Owen and Lucas at our new favorite breakfast place: Firehouse Grill.
Henry really wanted to ride the Carousel. So, we went twice. The first time, We all rode on the bench.

The next time, both boys rode on the moving horses. Owen LOVED it, Henry had a smile the entire time, but also had a "white knuckle" hand grip on my shirt the entire time.

Owen and I got to spend some one on one time during nap time. I introduced him to air hockey... quite possibly my favorite part of the vacation. He also spent some time in the play area.

Beach

We went to Seaside. It was COLD and windy. Owen didn't seem to mind. He ran and enjoyed the wind. He even took off his shoes and socks and ran and loved the beach. Henry, not so much. I held him, and he moaned that he was cold.

It was going to rain any moment, and the wind was gusty, but it was beautiful.

Owen has discovered the joy of writing in the sand.

We went back to our condo. The same place we stayed this summer when Henry got really, really sick. I will admit I had flashbacks. It took a while to enjoy our lovely vacation. Henry is tired. He is puny. He is so skinny... but he still seems happy. His eating waxes and wanes... luckily he likes salt water taffy, but only when we are in Seaside. He loves candy... when we are on vacation. He is being carried A LOT. We both feel he is sliding a bit faster, so we are again remembering to enjoy every moment.

Astoria Column

We drove to the Astoria Column. Owen REALLY wanted to go to the top, so Lucas and Owen went up. Henry and I stayed below.

Owen on the way down. He told me his "knees felt embarrassed" on the way down. (I think a way of saying they were shaky). He was so proud, but did mention he didn't need to do it again until he was six.

 164 stairs up and down.
 Winking boys

Astoria: Maritime Museum

We took advantage of Owen not having school this Monday and Tuesday; we took a mini vacation to Seaside. We started off by visiting Astoria.

The boys took a sleep on the drive over.
Then, we visited the Maritime Museum
