Bad Liar?

A conversation between Owen and me:
M: Do you have something in your mouth?
O: No.
M: Do you have a carrot in your mouth?
O: No.
M: What do you have in your mouth?
O: carrot.

I should have been a lawyer!

Afternoon

This afternoon, we took an adventure to the mailbox. Owen thought that he wanted to take his two Apatosauruses (or is that apatosauri)... but when we got outside, sticks were better. So he placed the dinosaurs on the stroller. I didn't think he thought that Henry would get to play with them. At least, he didn't notice at first. But when he did, he didn't make a scene... just showed Henry his two sticks and we carried on.
TWO STICKS!!
Yummy dinosaur.

Evening Fun

Just some quick pictures of us at play a couple nights ago. Here's Mr. Bright-eyes playing with a block. Owen showing off his TWO dinosaurs. "Yes, I have TWO apatosarouses. What do you have?"
Amazing self-portrait.
Is this Mr. Bright-eyes, Mr Smiley Face, or Mr. Look-at-that-Chin?

Zoo

We went to the zoo this morning. I love the zoo. And I love that Owen loves going to the zoo. And I love that going to the zoo tuckers Owen out so he takes long naps! Today, Lucas took Owen into the goat exhibit to pet them. Owen was so cute, petting the goats. When it was time to leave, Owen took his time to tell each goat, "bye goat!" Before he left, he turned to the final goat, said, "bye goat." Then kissed him on the butt. "mwah!" How do you sanitize that!? Henry thought that was pretty funny.
The zoo currently has a dinosaur exhibit going on. (I'll be sad when that goes away!) This is Owen looking at a dinosaur and saying, "dinosaur". The picture catches the "aur" portion.
Looking for bears. When we couldn't find one, Owen said, "bears napping. shhh" PENGUINS!!!

Dress like dad?

I was folding laundry last night... Owen loves to "help". "Helping" last night meant wearing the clean clothes. It started with wearing Oscar socks on his hands. Then, he had an interest in Lucas' T-shirt... so, he donned that. He was quite happy. Next, a pair of his shorts became a hat... we was super happy.
"My brother is funny."
Final addition: a towel. Owen thought he was so cool! He kept saying "ta-DA!" He took off the towel and socks, but the rest of the outfit remained through Elmo's video.
Self-Portrait. (At least me and Penguin are looking at the camera!)

Six month stats

Henry had his six month check up yesterday. It's a little odd... he's almost the EXACT same as Owen, statistically speaking.
Wt: 18lb 4.5 oz (Owen was the exact weight)
Ht: 27 and 3/8 inches. (Owen was 27 and 1/2 inches)

He got a clean bill of health, and was told he has an "endearing smile".

This is my little man on the quilt Jill made him! Space monkeys! He loves the colors.

Park

We went to the park yesterday. The park is right in the flight path of Hillsboro Airport... so it was only fitting that my "little airplane" went for a flight too! Who is that cute boy?
There he is!

Henry just chilled in the stroller. Someday soon he'll get to get out and play too!

Circle of Life

Here's a couple pictures Suzi took on our camping trip. Henry loved playing in the lake, he loved being naked in the sun even more. I am in love with this kid!

Six Months

I can hardly believe that Henry is six months old today! He just doesn't cease to amaze me. He is such a mellow happy baby.

Here he is sitting with a little help. I'd like to think the smile was because of me, but really, Owen is sitting on my lap. Henry gives the BIGGEST smiles to Owen. Happy boy with crazy hair. (note to self: no matter how cranky Henry is after a bath, MUST BRUSH HAIR!)
He's getting quite mobile. He'll roll himself all over the place. (Note to self: must keep floor clear of chokable toys and receipts on carpet)
On the move.
So proud, his next goal was Owen's dinosaur. (Note to self: Owen DOES NOT like to share dinosaurs.)
Henry had his first bite of "real food" today. No, not just the rice cereal he kept spitting out, but a real banana. He loved it! Ate it right down. He must have a taste for food like all the other boys in the house, rice cereal is icky... add banana: a culinary masterpiece!

Bruneau Trip Part NIne: Home

We drove home on Monday. It was a long drive. But we made it home. We stopped in Pendleton on the way home too. A good park is just hard to pass up... especially with hungry kids! Henry giving a hug to Lucas, or pleading with him not to get in the car again... "don't put me back in there"

"I'm not getting back in that car!"
Lucas looks like he's thinking the same thing. "you want me to get back in that car with these two?"
Almost posing...
A sweet brotherly kiss.
What big eyes!
Artistic shot by Lucas.
I actually said this on the way home, "Owen, you have lost dinosaur privledges". (this is after the high pitch screaming wouldn't stop." But, we made it home... stinky and tired, but we made it home. I can't wait to do it again next year!

Bruneau Trip Part Eight: Stars

The stars at night are big and bright (clap clap clap clap) deep in the heart of... Idaho?
The night sky was amazing, and Lucas took the opportunity to take a lot of really neat photos. Here's just a sampling of them.
(notice the tree on the left side?)

Sunset.

Enjoying some "adult time"

During the moon rise, Lucas used a long shutter speed and made some artsy shots.
The moon rising.

More stars.
You can even see the milky way!

Bruneau Trip part Seven: Magic

Lucas likes to dabble in magic. It provides hours of entertainment to nieces and nephews, and provides lots of cute quotes: Zachary, "magic isn't real Lucas." (10 minutes later) "Wow, Lucas is magic!" Lucas was pulling many rocks out of the kids ears, "pushing" rocks through his head and out his mouth... all the kids were finding rocks to see if Lucas could spit that rock out! So cute! Seth even collected an entire water bottle full of rocks and asked Lucas to push those through his head.

Owen wanted to help too!
A self-portrait of the magicians!
