Double fisting
Owen has a sippy cup of milk and a sippy cup of water both going in at once... does that make his whole milk half-n-half or 2%?
Nursery
We'll start with a cute picture of Owen last night... (someone needs a haircut)
Last night, Lucas and I finished the nursery... we are just waiting on the baby now. Since Owen has an airplane nursery, continuing with the aeronautical theme, new baby has a space/rocket theme. Thank goodness for on-line shopping!

Children's Museum
Last week, we became members of the Portland Children's Museum. There is a lot of stuff there for Owen now, and a lot of stuff he'll grow into. He had a great time. The exhibit right now is Clifford the Big Red Dog... or "woof woof" according to Owen.
Here he is playing with a little water fountain. Touching Emily Elizabeth's Hair (big red dog in the back)

New Chair
Last night, Owen had his last meal in his high chair. Today, we moved him into a booster seat. In reality, we could have done this a while ago, it's just such a big step. First the bed, now the booster seat... my little baby is a little boy. And a funny little boy at that... when I asked him to give me a smile, this is what he gave me:
With a chair, comes plates too!
Well, I'm almost 37 weeks pregnant... the end is near. I'm ready... well, I'm ready not to be pregnant any more... I need a few more weeks to get the room, house, brain prepared for a new little baby. The nursery is close, Lucas made big strides on it this morning... pictures soon, I promise.

Seaside: day two
Lucas' parents joined us for night number two. We were blessed with a beautiful day on the beach, so Owen got to run and play, while we all tried to keep up. I'll apologize now, I love beach photos, and I'm sure I'm posting too many, but how do you choose just a few?
We'll start with a family photo.
Owen found a piece of... kelp? and carried it around for the entire time at the beach. He would set it down occasionally to dig, or pick up something else, but always would come back to the same piece of... seaweed?
He thought he might exchange it for a piece of wood...But came right back to the kelp.

Seaside: day one
I think this is our fourth, maybe fifth, year in a row where we spend the second weekend in January in Seaside. We have friends or family stay with us, and good weather or bad, we have a great time. This year, Owen had a great time too... while I bring toys with us, he always has a way of finding his own entertainment. He learned he can fit inside kitchen drawers.
He also learned the art of spinning... spinning and spinning until you fall down. So funny, this is just one of a few times he toppled over.
He also perfected so new dance moves... I think he's going to be an Irish dancer... all feet, not much arm movement.
Susan, Dave and Jacob joined us for the first night. They had fun playing in the window. What cute boys staring back at them!

Big Bed
With the help of Lucas and Bob putting together Owen's new "big boy bed" last week, Owen has successfully taken to sleeping in a twin bed. The bed looks so big in his room, and he looks so small in it. But, he likes it... penguin does too! I know he has a concerned face on, I think it's because I put him down for a nap and took out the camera. "Why are you taking a picture, I'm tired". A view of how small he looks.
Boys will Be...birds?
Owen found our bird bath in the front yard today. I know, it's gross... old stagnant water, but Owen found such joy in it, I didn't seem to mind... that's what clean clothes and hand soap is for. I figure being a mom of a boy is understanding when the amount of fun your kid is having out weighs risk of dirtiness.
He was soaked by the time I carried him inside... I don't think he ever would have left on his own accord...
