Chicago: Monday, time to come home

Monday morning we woke to rain. Fair enough, it was time to come home anyhow. Lucas went downstairs and picked us up bagels to eat in our room.
 Where's Owen?
 Mr. Muscle Shadow
Waiting for our train to O'Hare.
Walking through O'Hare, finding airplanes and our ride home.

Owen was such a great travel buddy. Long days, lots of walking and he only was grumpy once. I think I was even grumpy more than that! We had a great time with Tiffany, Eric and Charlie. Nothing beats good friends, good food, good drinks and great adventures! Can't wait til our next trip!

Chicago: Sunday

Sunday morning, we started with homemade pancakes at Tiffany's place. Huck is such a great dog, just patiently waiting for any pancakes to hit the ground.

Then, my city boy, and the rest of us, waited for a bus to take us to the Shedd Aquarium.
 Charlie and Owen enjoying fish.

We were waiting for the aquatic show to start.

 JELLIES!!!

 Waiting for the bus, again.

 Next, we walked to lunch.
A famous hot dog from Portillos.
Did you know kids can sit at a bar in Chicago. Made me laugh. These two have a long future of bar sitting together.
For dinner, Tre Soldi. A great Italian restaurant that the kids could make their own pizza. It was good pizza too, as was the wine and grown up food too.

 He was so focused!

Earlier in the day, my coffee date!

Chicago: Saturday afternoon

We took the train back towards our place. Every stop had great musicians playing.

On our walk back to Tiffany's place, we stopped at Eataly. It's a giant store, two stories high, about the size of a city block full of Italian foods, nine small restaurants. You can drink wine and shop. It's Lucas' special place.

 Plus, for the kids, gelato!

That evening, Tiffany and I went out for a quick adult beverage.
 Love me some Tiffany time!

Chicago: Saturday morning

Saturday morning, we woke up and took the train to a yummy breakfast spot: batter and berries. Owen and Tiffy had a great time together on the train.
After breakfast, we went to a park, so the kids could play. Charlie making music.
 Owen enjoying a twisted ride.
Then a train and a walk to the Willis Tower.

 Such a beautiful day!

We stood out on the ledge. Quite scary... Owen told us it made his bladder feel funny.
We took a small red tricycle on our trip. A gift Susan gave us, and reminds us of Henry.
 Looking down.

We then walked through a pretty sketchy area to find a place that was supposed to have great bloody mary's . It was worth the walk to twisted spoke.
