This year, I shaved my head to raise money for St. Baldricks. People said, you'll know when it's your year to shave... and this was the year. Team Henry consisted of Amy, Jill, Trey, Jen, Peggy, Kevin and myself. We raised $7901.00. I am amazed and in awe of all of our friends and family who donated.
Because I was raised the second most amount of money, I was allowed to be shaved second, before the crowds. Owen held my hand the entire time. (Henry was in the hospital with pneumonia, so he and Suzi missed the St. Baldricks party)
I was full of emotion. A release of two years of cancer. A sadness for losing my hair. Power, from raising money for a great cause. It was, in a word, amazing.
Owen was sad after the shave. I asked if I looked pretty, he was quick to respond "no". He did call me handsome later, "because I look like a boy".
Jill donated her hair to Wigs for Kids. So she had awesome braids done before the shave.
I love Jill and Trey holding hands.
Jill, me, Trey and Amy. Rocking the bald look.
A before and after shot of myself and Dr. Jason Glover, one of Henry's oncologists.
My amazing mother-in-law, getting her head shaved.
