Caption contest

Henry was wrestling with his little vacuum, and this is how it ended. It makes me want to come up with funny little captions for it. Please feel free to add yours. 1. Housework got you down?
2. Turtle's trying out a new shell.
3. My back sucks.
4. Darn it! I thought I was wrestling a Flowbee.

Victory

Henry has mastered the "army crawl". He's been pretty mobile for a while, using the roll, spin, roll theory of movement. But, he has now realized straight lines are faster. Owen was napping, so we used a T- Rex as bait. He's such a ham to the camera... pose, smile, move, pose smile, move.

Self Play

Quick clarification... these are pictures of the boys playing BY themselves, not WITH themselves. Here's Owen playing with Legos while I make lunch. While Henry plays on a blanket.

And, just a random shot of Lucas and Henry while we were at OMSI last weekend. Henry's hair just busts me up! Some people would pay big money to have such crazy hair. If they only knew you only needed to drool into it, rub it around on the floor, and for kicks... rub in some pureed broccoli!

Silly Faces

The boys were showing off their silly faces yesterday. Here's Henry doing the "my chin is small and my cheeks are big" face: (please note all the drool on the shirt!) And here's Owen showing me the ultimate funny face. Makes me laugh each time!

Brotherly Love

Both boys were sitting in my lap during the afternoon showing of "Dinosaur Train". Owen reaches over and grabs Henry's hand. AND held it long enough for Lucas to find the camera and quietly tip-toe over to take the picture. So sweet.

My Boys

Just two quick pictures of my sweet boys. Henry woke up this morning with curls. Went to bed straight haired... woke up curly. Owen... showing off his cute eyes and great smile.

He Sits!!

Henry has mastered the skill of sitting! All by himself... for at least a few minutes. He's so cute. I think he almost needs a haircut.

Self Portraits

Just a couple self portraits over the past couple days. The best one of today: Owen making a loud airplane noise. Henry looking at Owen. I cut off penguins head... but I'm looking at the camera. This is Owen's "smile" face. It looks like he's in tremendous pain... but I assure you, when you say "smile Owen" this is the face you get. Quickly followed by, "see see" (the pictures)

Brothers

Owen and Henry are starting to spend more time actually interacting. It's so sweet. When we put Henry to bed, Owen likes to help. He'll turn on his music, help turn pages when reading books, and he usually gives Henry a big good night kiss (which I think is the highlight to Henry's day). Last night, Henry was in the crib and Owen reached in. He said, "good night brother. Good night ears, good night hair" all while patting Henry's hair and ears. So sweet.

Here a penguin is kissing Henry. Owen kissing Henry.
Owen is studying the magnets on his plane and helicopter, Henry is looking on.

On the floor laughing.

Many Faces

All these pictures are within 30 seconds. Henry just has so many cute faces!
"I'm a turtle" "I have a hole in there"
"I can drool all the way to the carpet"
"Dude..."
All cute faces, with just amazing eyes!

Phelps?

Owen found Lucas' swim goggles. He thought he was pretty cool. Helping hands of Lucas.
The world is BLUE!!
Very serious.

Lego Time

We played with Lego's this morning... Henry loves them, and enjoyed "playing" with Owen. "MY Lego."

A day in the life: dinosaurs

Owen is IN LOVE with dinosaurs. He loves them! He will choose one to take with us on a walk to the grocery store, another for a car ride, yet another to go upstairs when we get Henry up from a nap. We got a new parasaurolophus (say that three times fast) at OMSI, he brought him home and quickly introduced him to all his other dinosaurs... such a host.

So, I thought I'd just take some candid shot of the dinosaurs today. Here they are guarding Owen's books. I spelled out OWEN, then Owen placed them on before going to bed. Owen is "letting" Henry play with an Apatosaurus. Brachiosaurus is on the couch with a chip clip on his tail.
Henry tackling a dinosaur. I'm quite impressed that when Owen saw this he didn't say, "brother, NO"... maybe sharing IS in the future!

Owen is "clipping" dinosaur's toe tails, after Owen just got his nails clipped.
Posing for an artistic shot by Lucas.
T-Rex and "green dinosaur" guarding the house. (anyone know what green dinosaur really is?)

Apatosaurs wrestling over my remote (posed by Owen)
A bunch with Owen to watch "Dinosaur Train". Such a great little cartoon, which is cute AND educational. I'm learning a bunch. We just learned about dinosaur poop!

Where's the smile?

Lucas always says that Henry smiles with his eyes... well, just look at those eyes. He slowly is unveiling the smile...
There's the smile! It is sideways, due to some technical difficulties, but the smile and smiling eyes are there all the same! And let's just take a moment to look at that hair!

BobBob's visit

Bob came over for a visit this afternoon. Big hit: the motorcycle. I'll let them sit on a motorcycle... I'll kill 'em if they ever ride one!
Artistic Lucas shot.
coloring the sidewalk.
More boys on the motorcycle

OMSI

We took the kids to OMSI today. We were a little worried that there wouldn't be enough stuff that would entertain Owen... boy were we WRONG! What a fun morning we had... we will definitely be going back. And even better, it's a place that Owen will only grow more and more into. Today, they had a reptile exhibit going on. Only a few times did Owen call them "dinosaurs". He would just run from case to case saying, "more, more, more". They had an area where you could touch the reptiles... it was a hit!

The first thing we saw was the huge tortoise. (or as we call, turtle). Guess what his name was... come on, guess! It's HENRY! The turtle's name is Henry, and Henry is our turtle! How cute! Here's Owen touching one of many snakes. He was so gentle with them.
Owen and a Russian Tortoise.
Face to face with a boa constrictor.
After the reptiles, we found water. Lots of water to play in.

Owen really didn't want to take a break for a photo... so I quickly asked him to show me his sticks... always a success.
We continued on our exploration and found a great area for kids six and under... Owen was petting a baby raccoon.
He then donned a chipmunk costume.
Yep, my son is a Chipmunk.

Then we found more water...

This is Owen's new "thinking" face.
Henry loved looking at everything.

And posing with the raccoon.
Smile!

A BIG dinosaur!

Owen enjoyed flipping and "learning" about more dinosaurs.

What a great day... AND they had a great gift shop where we started buying stuff for Christmas and Hanukkah... I may be turning into my mom on the early shopping!
