Birthday Party

For Owen's birthday party, we invited 20 friends and went to the local bowling alley to play on the huge climbing structure. I think everyone had a great time.

 Based on all the red faces, I think it was a success.

Owen Turns SIX

 Owen has grown so much in the last year. Here he is walking to school.

 Instead of cake, which is "too sweet", he wanted an ice cream sundae with extra cherries. I hope he made a great wish.

Owen has learned how to make Lucas' famous scrambled eggs. He does everything except turn on the stove, and scrape the eggs onto the plate. He now calls them, "Owen's famous eggs, they are better than dad's". They are really good... and I'm not just saying that.

Trampoline Fun

For Kate and Max's birthday celebration, we went to G6, a huge trampoline park. Owen had a great time, it's quite bouncy there.

Me: uh... three years after college.
O: When can I have kids?
Me: um... three years after you're married.
O: you know my kids aren't going to be as good as me. I'm pretty awesome.
Me: so,  maybe you won't have kids?
O: I'll have kids... you are just pretty lucky to have me.

We are raising a humble child who likes to plan ahead.

Sprinkler fun

We had another afternoon full of sprinkler fun with our neighbors.

Fishermen

Lucas and Owen are becoming fishermen. It all started with a fishing trip that our neighbor Greg took them on. Lucas, Owen, Bob, Bruce, Zeke and Bailey all went out on the river to go salmon fishing. While there were no salmon caught, they caught plenty of sturgeon to release back. Everyone had a great time.

 

It was COLD, and wet, but all three kids did great.

 After that trip, Lucas got Owen and himself new fishing gear. Owen loves going fishing, and even caught his first trout. It's been fun to find all these great stocked lakes near our home. These were at Progress Ridge.

 When we fished at Commonwealth lake, Owen dressed in super hero gear... just so we could call him "superfisher".
