When I got home from work this morning, we put Owen in his Halloween costume. Since I work again tonight, it was to only time we would both be home to see him. Now, it could have been my "I've been up for 23 hour" tiredness... but I couldn't stop laughing seeing him! It's so funny to dress him up in a bulky costume and see the look on his face: "WHAT are you two doing to me?"
He didn't cry in the costume... he is a very cute monkey!
We wanted a standing picture to see his entire costume... but this one just makes me LAUGH!

My Happy Cowboy
It took a bit. He HATED it for a while... then was indifferent to it. But now, he LOVES his bouncy horse. Here's just a small video... after I shot it, he started laughing and smiling even more. But remember this, even if he loves his bouncy horse... I will NOT be buying him a pony for his birthday, and I don't expect you to either!
Shoot, after downloading I realize he's sideways.... you just need to tilt your head like you're eating a taco (remember those Taco Bell commercials?)... ah... now he's the right way!
Five Months
Yesterday, Owen officially turned five months old. I have pictures of the day before, and the day after, just not on his OFFICIAL day. Oh well, I figure I've just sandwiched his big day with photos.
Day before:
His bottom should have said "POO"
He's starting to look like such a little boy... gone is my baby!

Vote 2008
I just sat down with my large cup of coffee, my election pamphlets, a blue ball point pen and my 2008 ballot. I just finished filling each bubble precisely; my SAT skills have come in handy once again.
I HAVE VOTED.
Next step, a stamp and a walk to the mailbox.

Wasington DC Part VI
Lucas rarely comments on what I put on the blog. He reads it, he likes it, he'll even give ideas for the blog. BUT when he read this morning's edition, he promptly called from work and told me I didn't post good enough plane photos. You see, I think you all what to see pictures of us, meaning Owen. Lucas thinks you want to see better pictures of the Enola Gay , the Concord, and of this stealth plane I can't remember what it's called (sorry Lucas!).
So, per the request of Lucas... a few more photos.

Washington DC Part V
On Saturday we all journeyed on Metro to the mall. It was supposed to rain, luckily we missed the downpour by about an hour.
Big three airplanes from the Air and Space Museum: The silver one is Spirit on St. Louis, first plane to fly over the Atlantic. The orange one is the first plane to break the sound barrier. The white one is the first plane to enter space. I forgot the names of these two...but Lucas can tell you all about them and more, just ask! If there was a trivial Pursuit: Airplane Edition, Lucas would kick all your butts!

Washington DC Part I
We got back LATE last night from Washington D.C. where we visited Allie and Liberty. We had a great time, and Owen (as always) was a pretty good traveller. We have a 213 pictures, probably 189 of those of airplanes (not joking). We went to two different air and space museums, and Lucas was in heaven. So, here's the first installment of DC pictures, at the Smithsonian Air and Space museum at Dulles Airport, an anex to the one on the mall.
First... Owen and the cockpit of the 757 we flew out on. Total flying time about 5 hours. Total crying time, about 15 minutes... not bad.
A concord. The last one to fly across the Atlantic.
The Enola Gay. The plane that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, which helped to end WWII. (also a common crossword puzzle clue)

Owen and Lucas with a Boeing 707.
In all honesty, I only picked out pictures of planes I knew the names of, and of ones with family in them. We will be putting together an airplane album, so any time any of you want to see all the airplanes we saw... just let me know. I'll set up a viewing with Lucas, who knows all about each one of them.
Libby helped push around Owen in the museum... she was a big help!

Happy Trails
Well, I decided to try the horse again today. If you don't remember, for a while he HATED the horse... it's what I'd put him in if I wanted him to cry... which I don't really ever want. He would be in a great mood, I'd try him in the horse... almost instant tears.
Today, I was brave and gave it a try... He loves it... Bouncy Bouncy Bouncy
Even caught another smile! Then he spotted the camera, and back to his serious face...

Finally... caught
We went on a fall walk. Owen loves being outside in the fall air. He was all smiles... and I finally caught one on camera... and I caught a blink too. I thought he would stop smiling, since he did see the camera, but then... I caught it... eyes open, and a great Owen smile... INTO THE CAMERA!
On our walk we picked up a few leaves, he was facinated with them. I did take them away before he started to eat them.
