Gymnastics

Today, Owen had gymnastics. He is getting really good. Here is a headstand kick.
 And balance beam.
Henry tried to do everything too... just behind the lines. He does a great bunny hop!

Cousins

We had an impromtu duck feeding with the Ryerson's.
Abigail was helping Henry keep his balance.

A long day.

After steroids, Henry "comes" back to being his happy self on Tuesday. But, on Tuesday he didn't feel good. He got his first fever in over a year. That bought us a late night visit to the ED for IV antibiotics. Wednesday, we went to clinic for scheduled IV Pentamadine, IVIG and a bonus dose of antibiotics. It started off well, Owen and Henry played and LAUGHED on the hospital bed in clinic.

But, during his IVIG transfusion, he had a bad reaction, and had another fever. Two fevers in 24 hours, plus a low ANC bought us a night in the hospital. He also needed platelet and blood transfusion, so a long afternoon turned into a long night/day at the hospital.
Lucas went home to get doggy, Henry did so amazing in the hospital.

On Thursday, Owen and Lucas spent the day with us... again, beds with buttons... a great invention.

 Who is doggy looking at?
Bailey, the therapy dog that kept us company for a while.
Bailey also played with Penguin and Doggy.
They boys loved to run the hallways. and look at the helipad.

We came home Thursday evening. While the new hospital is nice, and it was lovely to see our favorite nurses... one night at the hospital was enough for us!

Last Steroids

The last round of steroids didn't disappoint. It was horrible. He was miserable. My back aches from the hours I held him. We all lost patience. We all celebrated when it was done!
All he ate was Pirate's Booty and Mac n Cheese
Henry, drawing up his last dose.

Last LP

Last week Henry had his last LP and IV chemo. We took a few pictures to document the fun occasion.

Here's Henry enjoying the magnet table in the waiting room.

Owen decided to enjoy some TV time.
Getting his "numbers" height and weight.
And more numbers, BP and temp.
Getting his port accessed by nurse Torey.

Waiting. And enjoying some more TV time.
 The LAST dose.
Henry is getting IV Propofol to make him go to sleep for his LP.

Lucas put some notes on Henry for Elissa.
Owen is always so sweet waiting for Henry to wake up.
 Last Vincristine.
The snack waiting for him when he wakes up.

 Oh, and chocolate milk.
We brought in cheesecake to help us celebrate our big day. The boys were more interested in the cake than the picture.

Beach trip.

This past weekend, we went to Seaside for two nights with Bob and Amy. We had a great time, the weather cooperated, and we proved that our boys CAN sleep in one room together!
Here's Owen looking at the beach the first night.

Some evening fun in the sand.
The next morning, Henry enjoyed some pre-breakfast blueberries.
Owen and Penguin enjoyed reflecting while looking at the ocean.
This is how I found Owen during rest time... he was staring at his brother.

Owen and Penguin enjoying our patio.
Amy enjoying her inner child on the carousel.
They boys went for one spin, but liked watching it go again better.
 Owen and his new hat.

We have a very similar picture of bald Henry, way back when...
 Boots.
