Christmas fun

Christmas morning. Owen and Penguin posing for a picture. Those blue sunglasses are Owen's new obsession. They go almost everywhere with him. Happy Henry opening a present. Much better to be at home than in the hospital!

Owen built a "nice monster" with his new set of Magneatos.

Fun times at Bob Bob and Mimi's house.

Super Heroes

For Christmas, Suzi made each boy a super hero cape. The boys LOVE them. Today they were running around the house in them.

Owen, with side-kick Penguin.

Superman Henry: turtle and milk in tow.

Preschool Fun

Owen had a fun last week of preschool before the holidays. We got to go on a field trip to Dilly Storybook Lane. Henry and I went to join the fun. Owen was up ahead a bit, but came running back to tell Henry there was a helicopter. It was a Harry Potter helicopter, but Henry loved it all the same.

Owen also had his first holiday program. He had told me that afternoon that he wouldn't be singing. He would jingle his bells, but he didn't want to sing. Sure enough, he stood there and rang his bells, even tapped his foot to the beat of the piano, but no singing.

Sure looked cute though!

Air Museam

We went to the Evergreen Air Museum a few weeks ago. The good thing about Henry not making counts again and again, are that we are getting some bonus family time out of it. He' s currently not on chemo, so he feels great, and we are just patiently waiting for his neutraphil count to be high enough for our last round of hospital chemo... in the meantime, we play.

I think both kids liked all the seating areas more than the airplanes. Henry LOVED it... but kept signing for helicopters... those were in the next building.

A VERY serious pilot.

Co-Pilots?

They played so well together!

Owen informed us that this plane was smiling.

Upside down... but a good family self-portrait.

Henry was so excited to see a BIG helicopter.

Cousin Fun

One of the many good things of having Suzi and her family so close is cousin fun. Especially when Lucas "gets" to be the middle of a cousin dog-pile. (Seth is missing, he's on a field trip with Suzi)

They decided to start a band... taking turns on who played what. Usually Abigail was vocals, but the instruments changed quite a bit.

On the keyboard: Zachary.

Bob Bob

A cute picture of Owen and Bob Bob having a deep conversation from Sunday night.

Park

Today we went to the park with the Ryersons. It was cold, but beautiful. Hanging out with four other kids is so great for Owen and Henry. Owen finally decided that slides were fun, and Henry just played and played.

Two boys, one slide. Henry is enjoying a bite of cinnamon cookie.

Henry likes to climb the slide... he's always up for an uphill battle. Zachary is patiently waiting his turn.

My beautiful bald baby... who's no longer a baby.

Climbing.

Owen was sailing us to Mexico.

Cute Quotes

Owen is growing up so fast. He just keeps coming up with the cutest quotes.

Owen was playing with his toys, when he told me his truck was broken. I said, that was sad. He replied, "no worries. I just give him some blood and chemo and he will be all better!" Then he fixed the truck with a chop stick, and told me his truck was ALL BETTER. "The boo-boo is all gone."

Lucas was parallel parking the van. When he was done, Owen (from the backseat) said, "Good job daddy! You stayed calm, and thought it through and you DID IT!"

Usually, when Owen is done napping, he calls us and we go upstairs and get him. Yesterday, I heard his door open, and heard him coming downstairs. He said, "I'm a grown up. I woke up all by myself. I come downstairs just like a grown up."

We told Owen that if he ate a good dinner, we would have hot cocoa and walk up to see the Christmas lights, he said, "that sounds like a FINE idea."

Lights

You know it's the holiday season when our down the street neighbors light up the entire sky with their Christmas lights. We walk down there almost every night after dinner. Here are some pictures from a few of our visits.

Sometimes, some hot chocolate joins our trip.

When the lights were first put up, Lucas was standing with Owen. Owen asked Lucas if the lights made him happy. Lucas replied yes. Owen said, "I'm so glad!! I'm so glad you are happy!"

Puddle Jumping

We went to a local food cart pod the other day for lunch. While we waited for the best burger, the boys found a puddle to jump in. It was a small puddle, but enough for a lot of fun! Waiting patiently for lunch.

A little walk between courses.

More puddle time.

The kids were so soaked that they had to drive home in just their underwear.
