Ducks

Instead of being in the hospital on Monday, we opted to feed the ducks. I think it was better for all four of us! (and all the ducks)

Henry loved throwing bread at them.

Owen fed one duck again and again. I don't think that one will need to eat for at least a week.

Happy boys.

Owen was a little brave and walked along the bench. (a big step for him!)

It's like he had this planned all along. "if I don't make enough white blood cells, I won't have to go to the hospital, and we can go play." He's a smart little guy.

The park is near the airport... and we all know my boys love looking at airplanes!

From kid to adult

Today, while Owen continued to nap, Henry and I played. We started with the classic, "shorts on your head". He thought it was pretty funny. Such a goofy kid. Then we switched to the always enjoyable, "steal mommy's coffee cup." Which I always enjoy, IF my coffee cup is empty. I took this picture, and I swear you can see Henry's grown up face. He looks like such a little man.

Park

Now that Suzi lives so close, we get to play and play and play... yesterday was an impromtu trip to Rood Bridge Park. An amazing picture of four six kids. Owen talking with the ducks.

Family picture!

First day of school

Owen had his first day of school yesterday. Two days a week, he gets to go to preschool. While he wouldn't pose for a typical "first day of school, stand if front of the door" picture, we did get a couple cute cheese-ball pictures.

In front of his school.

He played great, until we left. He was crying so hard when we left. And cried again when we went to pick him up... but in the time between, it seems like he had a good time.

Bath Time

We gave the boys a bath tonight. I'll be honest, we've been a little chicken giving Henry a bath. Lots of showers, but with his PEG tube, a dunk seemed a little risky. But, after talking with our oncologist today, his counts are good, his site looks great, and we should have as much fun as we (safely) can. So, Henry's first bath since July.

Both boys loved it. Owen helped wash Henry, and Henry loved the bath... much more than the horrible showers we've been giving him.

"WOW, I have hair!" Mr. Happy Henry

Helpful Owen rinsing Henry's soapy head.

A KISS. Never mind it's open-mouthed.

Goof.

After baths, book time with dad.

Owen starts preschool tomorrow. Wish us luck. I fear we may cry harder than we have in some time!

Wagon Ride

We took the boys out for a wagon ride this evening after dinner. They both had a great time, and got to play "brothers" when Henry kept touching Owen. It took Henry two blocks to realize that he needed to stay on his bottom.

Looking at an airplane. That Owen called an "A-1211"
