Halloween

We took our Dinosaur and Turtle out for Halloween this year. It's the first year that Owen has gone trick or treating. And while we only went to a few houses, he had a great time. The first house we went to was our friends, Michelle and Robert's house. Owen rang the bell, said "trick or treat" and walked right on in.
We visited for a while, and got the "green family photo".
Next stop: Nick and Kasi's house. He rang the bell, said "trick or treat" and walked right on in!
When we got back home, Owen and I went to three more houses. He was so happy to ring the bell, say "trick or treat" and luckily NOT walk into any one's house. Though it was close when he saw a cat...
My happy dinosaur.

While we only went to a few houses, he was quite tired by the time we made it home... He needed a rest in the bark dust before we went inside.
I think he had just as much fun helping answering the door and handing out candy.

fatherly love

I love watching Lucas make Henry laugh! Such love.

Sleeping boys

Quote of the day

Owen: (pointing to my glasses) Mommy glasses.
Me: yep, those are my glasses.
Owen: (pointing to his eyes) Owen glasses?
Me: you'll get them soon enough
Owen: OK

What dinosaur are you?

Brachiosarous. Mr. Brachiosaurous. (his arm is the long neck, hand is the mouth)

Red and Brown

Since Suzi just posted some pictures of Seth in red and brown on her blog, I found it only fitting to dress Henry in the same brown overalls. Sometimes I think we should give Henry extra water for all the drool he loses in a day.
Such a happy little guy. As soon as he sees the camera he will smile.

Blocks

"Hey mom, why are you putting away the blocks... I wanted to play with those... now, how do I get them out?" "If I just dump the blocks... "
"they're mine. ALL MINE!!" (he's so excited about the blocks he's drooling!)

Monkeys

The boys have matching monkey pajamas. Owen thought it was funny that there were two monkeys... and Henry just thought it was great that he looked like Owen.
An amazing self-portrait of the three of us. We were all laughing so hard! Me and lil' monkey.

"how you doin'?"
Owen loves tickling Henry... and Henry loves to be tickled by his brother.
This was a "hug". More of a tackle, but Henry didn't seem to mind. I love happy monkeys.

Bottle

Owen never wanted to feed himself with the bottle. He was always quite content to let us hold the bottle while he dined in luxury. Henry, on the other hand, would LOVE to feed himself... but because he can't "suck" yet, and still requires a fair amount of help with the 'special' bottle... he can't. Ironic.
Most of the time, when he finds the bottle, he does have it in the right position... I think he was just trying out a new technique since the other way doesn't yield much food either!
Huge hair to match his huge eyes.

The Party

Yesterday we helped celebrate Paige and Presley's second birthday. The kids got to dress up, and we all got to have a great time!
Here's my Turtle. Lucas decided to dress up like... Lucas.
Miss Presley decorating a pumpkin. Me and the boys.

Paige decorating a pumpkin.
The girls enjoying their birthday cakes. Henry enjoying a cup. Just a cup. Nothing inside but a lot of fun... and then slobber.

Sweet Turtle.
Sweet Dinosaur.
Owen was offered a pumpkin to decorate... but he just wanted to put them all away. (back in the basket they all started in!) We had a great time.

Dinosaur and Turtle

Today our friends Paige and Presley celebrated their second birthday with a costume party. We dressed the kids up and headed over... picture of the party will be tomorrow, but the pre-party party was at our house.
Here's the back of my little dinosaur. Here's a miraculous shot of three of us.
Dinosaur (Owen) giving Turtle (Henry) a hug.
twice. My little turtle. His chin, or lack thereof, barely kept the hat on.
Me and my Dinosaur. He hated putting it on, but as soon as he saw himself in the mirror, there was no turning back!

Boys

Just a few quick shots from the past couple days. Here's a very happy Henry in... well... a turtle neck! Owen leaning in for a kiss...
Cute brothers!
Lucas came home from work on Thursday, Henry crawled on over and planted a big kiss on him!

So close...

To paraphrase a great band, "I want to ride my tricycle, I want to ride it now!"
And he's so close, his little legs just need to grown another inch. In the meantime, Owen gets a helping push by his dad.
Just look at that smile!!!

Indoor fun

Owen loves his tricycle. Loves wearing his helmet. And loves to will his legs to grow one more inch. Henry loves listening to Owen ring his bike bell again and again and again...
